Salt Lake City, UT
This remodel converted a floor of a former department store into 27,281 sq. ft.
of leading edge, high-performance office space for Spectrum Engineers. Focused on
occupant health, comfort and productivity, the space is expected to achieve LEED®
Platinum. Each of Spectrum’s design disciplines and related specialties were involved
with the design of this space, including technology design. A/V equipment is RoHS
(restriction on the use of hazardous substances) compliant. High-definition video
conferencing in the Farnsworth Boardroom represents significant energy savings by
reducing the need to burn fossil fuel for travel. Video conferencing camera, screen,
and A/V lights are integrated with and controlled by touch panel controls. The boardroom
table is custom designed to facilitate effective video conferencing without compromising
standard meeting dynamics. Technology integrated into the table promotes ease of
use. The boardroom and the Newton Holodeck feature annotation systems with which
notes may be written on screen, saved and distributed electronically. The Newton
Holodeck houses a fully functioning U.S. federal courthouse lectern complete with
video evidence sources.
