Reusing this space as a sustainable design center supporting about 100 employees was challenging and rewarding for Spectrum Engineers. Having earned a nearly perfect 97 Energy Star rating and on track for LEED^® Platinum, this 30,000 sq. ft. office benefits from daylight entering from the perimeter and garden cut into the building core. Extensive controls (carefully controlling lighting levels for tasks and occupancy), reused legacy lighting and dimming display lights or dimming other lights according to proximity to windows achieves 0.7 watts per sq. ft. and extends lamp life helping meet aggressive goals.
