Mesa State College Business and Technology Building - LEED® Gold

Grand Junction, Colorado
The Business and Technology Building is a 61,810 sq. ft., $14,150,219, three-level, CM/GC project. The facility achieved LEED® Gold and features automated lighting control, operable windows and other sustainable features. One of the challenges of this project is that the owner did not decide to pursue LEED® until after the project was in construction. Spectrum and the rest of the design team achieved LEED® Gold without having to go back and change their designs. The facility is composed primarily of classrooms and office space as well as student lounges and computer labs. Spectrum Engineers provided electrical engineering services which included designing the medium voltage, electrical distribution and lighting systems and provided technology design of audio/video, voice and data cabling and security systems.
