Ronald McDonald House Expansion & Remodel
The 40,000 square-foot expansion of the Ronald McDonald House features 42 rooms that can each sleep five comfortably, family gathering spaces, a spacious kitchen, indoor and outdoor play areas, a computer room, theater room, exercise room, laundry room, deck, and sanctuary.
The home is twice as large as the pre-existing one building in 1988, which has undergone renovations to provide a total of 72 guest rooms—including eight, long-term suites—for families who have children receiving pediatric care for illness or injuries.
The expansion and renovation of the Ronald McDonald House to better serve families whose children are facing challenging health issues was a particular honor. The Salt Lake City medical community serves families throughout the Intermountain West and providing families a place to stay near their children during difficult times allows the healing power of family to complement modern medicine.
