Northern Utah State Veterans Nursing Home
The Northern Utah State Veterans Nursing Home consists of a single-story building of approximately 80,000 square feet on 13.45 acres of land. It provides licensed nursing, specialized preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care to 120 long-term-care residents in a home-like environment 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The facility provides 150, on-site parking stalls with adequate handicapped accessible stalls.
The $17 million, LEED Silver facility emphasizes natural light and views to the outdoors, access to outdoor gardens, comfortable and safe materials, inviting dining experiences and living spaces that mimic elements of the comforts of home.
The energy efficiency of this building decreases the relative use of consumptive power and minimizes long term energy life-cycle costs.
Spectrum’s team performed the electrical programming and design for emergency and normal power distribution, nurse call/paging systems, fire alarm, TV, voice/data, CCTD, access control, patient room layout and nurse station layout, as well as adjusting interior lighting controls for nighttime.
It was an honor to provide a superb nursing facility to help the men and women that served our country as part of the Armed Services.Peter Johansen, P.E., Spectrum Engineers
