Beehive Clothing is a high-tech sewing facility in which religious clothing is assembled.
At the new American Fork Beehive Clothing Facility, an advanced Building Management
Control System (BMCS) and Direct Digital Control (DDC) system, designed, programmed
and commissioned by Spectrum-subsidiary Total Building Commissioning (TBC), integrates
many state-of-the-art systems to achieve an energy efficient, comfortable, safe
and productive environment. Innovations include use of raised floor system, unusual
in semi-industrial settings, providing access to modular power and other systems.
The floor acts as an air plenum, forcing fresh air through occupant-controlled diffusers.
Ice-production and storage for cooling achieve energy savings. Spectrum Engineers
was the electrical engineer as well and designed flexible electrical distribution
systems and advanced lighting controls that maintain remarkably even lighting levels,
used in conjunction with natural lighting.
