Spectrum Engineers provided electrical engineering and technology and lighting design for this 105,000 sq. ft., $34 million ambulatory surgical center, located in University of Utah’s Research Park. The center consolidated the Department of Orthopedics’ academic medical practice that was dispersed throughout several facilities within the University of Utah Health Sciences Campus and Research Park. It is a four-story building with a 350-stall parking structure and was designed as an efficient, patient friendly, state-of-the-art, clinical and academic facility that supports teaching and research as well. The facility includes 40+ exam rooms, physical therapy/treatment space with therapy pool, outpatient surgery with four ORs and two procedure rooms, patient observation area with six patient rooms, MRI and radiography, outpatient pharmacy and offices.
