UTAH BUSINESS NAMES SPECTRUM ENGINEERS’ JOSEPH M. “JODY” GOOD, III, A GREEN PIONEER
Salt Lake City—Spectrum Engineers is pleased to announce that Joseph M. “Jody” Good, III, LC, FIES, IALD, LEED™ AP, principal lighting and theatre designer, was named a Green Pioneer by Utah Business during the magazine’s first-ever Utah Green Business Awards. The Green Business Awards program honors “the best green practices and efforts in Utah, recognizing companies, communities and individuals who are making strides in environmental sustainability.” Mr. Good and other Green Business Award winners were recognized at a banquet on October 22, 2009 and are profiled in the October 2009 issue of Utah Business, the cover of which features Mr. Good posing with an illuminated compact fluorescent lamp in hand. “It is an honor and privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with these high-caliber individuals and companies in recognition of our efforts toward sustainability and our passion for resource-conservation and energy efficiency,” Good says.

Mr. Good is dedicated to providing sustainable designs and products for the benefit of owners, occupants and the public throughout Utah and around the world. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED™ AP) as recognized by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). His experience in the energy-efficiency arena began in 1979 when he worked in the lighting controls manufacturing industry designing energy-conserving products and controls. As a lighting design consultant, he is dedicated to designing high-performance lighting systems. His energy-efficient lighting designs are featured in many LEED™ projects. His dedication to sustainable solutions enters into each of his designs, even if owners decide against pursuing third-party sustainable certification and is an advocate for and instructor on sustainable lighting systems and approaches. In recognition of his energy-efficient and artistic illumination of two Utah Catholic churches, Mr. Good was the first person to be awarded, after international competition, both the GE Edison Award for Design and the Award for Energy Efficiency for the same project and is the first person to hold two Edison Awards for Energy Efficiency.
